What's giong on with the Kickers? My daughter wanted to play on the Kickers but from what I'm hearing they've gone from over 18 teams two years ago to just a handful? Will you be getting more teams or more importantly will you still be a club next year?

What's giong on with the Kickers? My daughter wanted to play on the Kickers but from what I'm hearing they've gone from over 18 teams two years ago to just a handful? Will you be getting more teams or more importantly will you still be a club next year? The problem is not with the Kickers, the problem is with another Simi Valley self-proclaimed but yet to be proven PREMIER soccer club who is poaching coaches and teams away from the club with false promises of grandeur . While the Kickers charge $450.00 per player for registration this alleged PREMIER club is charging $1,200.00 per player. Exactly what you get for the extra $750.00 per player is yet to be seen. If you check the clubs overall record they are no more or no less competitive then the Kickers. It depends what you are your daughter are looking for. If you want qualified and dedicated coaches that care about the kids in a family type atmosphere then the Kickers is your best bet. If you are more concerned with pomp and circumstance or claims of "we are better then every other club in Simi Valley" (which has yet to be shown) then feel free to pay $1,200.00 for the same competitiveness and coaching that you can get with the Kickers for less then half the cost. Good luck to you and your daughter!

I actually got a great laugh reading the response to this tread. If I remember correctly the Kickers had twenty-something teams as recent as three years ago. To say that the only problems the Kickers have is a “Self Proclaimed Premier Soccer Club” poaching coaches and teams away from the club with false promises of grandeur is the understatement of the decade! Unlike sturns I was brought up to not say bad things about people or organizations so I won’t point out the obvious problems with the SAS Kickers. To the guest that posted the original thread, I doubt if the Kickers have a team in your daughters age group since their is only a handful of teams. You are best to try AJAX www.ajaxsimi.com or the Dreaded Eclipse www.eclipsesoccer.com since they seem to have more age groups. Good Luck

Delusions of Grandeur,
Your post was funny, I had a nice laugh. I find it interesting when people like you refuse to look at an entire situation and choose only see things their own way. So which club are you from, Ajax or Eclipse? I believe you are most likely from the "dreaded" Eclipse. Which makes your choice of name evern more interesting. Seems no one in the Kickers has delusions of grandeur. The club is what it is, a small and competative club that charges only what is necessary to run the club, not pay bloated coaches and board members money from the pockets of the kids and their parents. The Kickers do not claim to be the PREMIER soccer club in Simi Valley. Seems like the only club with delusions of grandeur is yours. Was there a vote to pick the PREMIER soccer club of Simi Valley or is this just a self proclaimed title that your club chose for itself. Based on your clubs overall record (which is no better or no worse then AJAX, CHIVAS or the KICKERS), how do you justify calling your club the PREMIER club of Simi Valley when 60% of your teams are bronze? Is it because you charge more then any other club? Again, it's called delusions of grandeur. So I see how your name properly applies to you and your club.
The actual problems with the Kickers began when the former club president mismanaged the club, alienated enough people who left to form AJAX, stole players from other teams to place on his own, made promises to other clubs he could not back up and then made a back door deal to flee the club with his two teams in tow to the "dreaded" Eclipse. The funniest part is that the new club finally realized how inept this person was as a coach and manager and took his two teams away from him and gave him a U10 team where he could not do any real damage. The funny part is most (if not all) the soccer coaches in Simi Valley have coached for 1, 2, 3 and even all 4 of the clubs in Simi Valley at some point in time. The soccer community in Simi Valley is just a giant dysfunctional family. Teams and coaches jumping from one club to another year after year. It's a wonder that the parents of the kids on these teams actually put up with it. Then again that is what people like you thrive on, parents who would rather follow then speak up.
You seem to suppose that the Kickers do not have a team in the age group of What is Up, yet you did not seem to care or ask which it was. Typical response from a Eclipse member who drank the Eclipse cool aide. Still think you are the PREMIER of Simi Valley? Not until you stop all of Simi Valley's best players from leaving and going to the EAGLES or REAL SO CAL. Charging $1,200.00 for registration does not make you a better club, it just makes you a more expensive club. Getting paid as a coach does not make you a better or more qualified coach. The Kickers is a great club with people who actually care about the kids, not about getting PAID.
Good luck to What is Up and her daughter I am sure she will make the choice that is best for her.
For Delusions of Grandeur, keep drinking the Eclipse cool aide and telling youself that your club is better then the rest, because the clubs record sure does not show it.
